Borden Family Book List

IMG_1264We’ve loved our many opportunites to volunteer with the San Juan del Sur Library.  It is an incredible resource to this community and it really does go way beyond books in how it serves not only the people that call San Juan del Sur home, but the uncountable numbers of tourists who find themselves here for a day or more.   It’s actually a bilingual library, so the girls have checked out several books this past 5 months – all ones just for fun.  As a family we’ve been reading too.  Sometimes we can all engage a book together, and sometimes one of us reads and recaps it for the rest of us.  Just about everyway you can think about having a book club, we have tried.  Sometimes it is fun and sometimes it isn’t, but every book we’ve read has had something for us in it.  We were asked recently what we’ve been reading, so here’s what we’ve engaged together since February:

The Bible by God

Crazy Love by Francis Chan

Erasing Hell by Francis Chan

Forgotten God by Francis Chan (HAVE IT TO READ NEXT!)

Hope by Shane Claiborne

When Helping Hurts by Steve Corbett & Brian Fikkert (READING RIGHT NOW!)

Toxic Charity by Robert D. Lupton

Deep Justice Journey’s by Brad McGriffin & Kara Powell

Walking with the Poor by Bryant L. Myers

The Hole in our Gospel by Richard Sterns
